Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre
Gentleshaw Wildlife Centre is a sanctuary for rescued and re-homed animals. Lizards, Meerkats, Owls, Goats, Emus, Monkeys, Snakes, Raccoons, Parrots and more, all find sanctuary at Gentleshaw.
Founded in 1993, the sanctuary is a licenced Zoo which not only provides refuge for birds of prey, reptiles and mammals, but also has an on-site hospital for the rehabilitation of wild, injured birds of prey (these casualties are not on display to the public).
Visitors will be able to see over 100 animals within the little sanctuary, learning about the animals in the wild, and the stories behind the rescues. Offering school talks and flying displays* there is plenty of opportunity to learn, whilst supporting the work of the charity. A perfect hour out for animal lovers old and young.
